❄️ Refrigeration, HVAC & Facilities Service Technician
Location: Lower Hutt, Wellington
Type: Full-time | Workshop & Onsite
We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration & HVAC Technician to join our expanding team. While based from our Lower Hutt workshop, this is predominantly a mobile service role, travelling to service clients across Wellington, Wairarapa, and Manawatu.
The position is primarily focused on refrigeration and HVAC, so we require a fully qualified technician in these areas. In addition, we are ideally looking for someone who also holds an EST qualification (or is willing to undertake the training to achieve this). This dual skill set enables you to not only deliver refrigeration and HVAC services but also assist with and learn some of the basic servicing of our clients’ specialised machinery – full training will be provided.
This role is varied and always interesting, with opportunities to work independently as well as alongside a well-oiled, supportive team where everyone helps each other in the true essence of teamwork. As FMS provides 24/7 callout services, participation in a callout roster (with additional allowances and payments) is a requirement.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills & Experience:
NZ trade qualification in Refrigeration & HVAC (or equivalent).
Current EAS/EST qualification preferred (or willingness to train towards).
Proven experience with refrigeration & HVAC installation, servicing, and repairs.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for electrical and mechanical issues.
SiteSafe passport (or equivalent H&S training).
Working at Heights and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) certified training preferred.
Current clean NZ driver’s licence.
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and customer-facing.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a strong team culture.
Commitment to safety, integrity, and high-quality workmanship.
Familiarity with PPM programs and 24/7 emergency breakdown services.

🔧 Electrical/Mechanical Service Technician

Type: Full-time | Field Service
This dual-trade technician role is perfect for professionals who enjoy working across both electrical and mechanical domains. You’ll handle installation, diagnostics, PPM, and breakdown repairs on a wide range of commercial food and facility equipment.
